Hard core KFC fans have come up with the perfect way to pay homage to their favorite fast food brand – by wearing gold plated KFC bones as jewelry. The idea sounds rather primitive, but I suppose the gold plating does reduce the barbaric effect to some extent. ‘Kentucky Fried Chicken Bone Gold Necklaces’, are made of only two ingredients – real KFC bones and real 14 karat gold. They come in two sizes – small and large. The necklaces are the brainchild of Kentucky...

Finally, we have an engineer who’s putting his degree to proper use! 27-year-old Londoner Alex Bygrave has used all his technical know-how to come up with the ultimate invention – an awesome Gatling water gun. The VideoLan project was originally started as an academic project in 1996. VLC used to stand for "VideoLAN Client" when VLC was a client of the VideoLAN project. But since VLC is no longer merely a client, that initialism no longer applies.
It was intended to consist of a client and server to stream videos across a campus network. Originally developed by students at the École Centrale Paris, it is now developed by contributors worldwide and is coordinated by VideoLAN, a non-profit...

Dogs are amazing creatures and Lilica, a Brazilian stray, is a perfect example of that. She lives in a junkyard, hangs out with a motley crew, and she makes sure her friends never go hungry. Every night, Lilica walks four miles in the dark, braving the rush hour traffic, just to bring food back to the other animals in her ‘family’ – a dog, a cat, a few chickens and a mule. Lilica was abandoned at a junkyard in San Carlos, Brazil, when she was just a puppy. Neile Vaina Antoni...

The 2013 Global Drugs Survey reported that drug dealing on the internet was on the rise. This may have been shocking news to a lot of people, but the truth is that marijuana was the very first thing ever to have been sold and bought on the internet. The first bag of this "herb" was sold online over 40 years ago!
In the early 1970s, Stanford students at Stanford University's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory engaged in a drug deal with their counterparts at Massachusetts In...

Over the life of your printer, you’ll probably pay more than 500% of the total price of the printer itself on ink refill cartridges. At $30, a 42ml cartridge of black printer ink comes out to 71 cents per ml. On the other hand, the Red Cross charges $200 for 500 ml of blood, which comes out to about 40 cents per ml.

Jacobins aren’t your average, everyday pigeons that flock on your terrace and mess it up with droppings. Take one look at them and you’ll know they are a cut above the rest. How can they not be, with a royal hood of feathers that covers them from the neck up, almost entirely hiding their pretty little heads. I like to think of them as pigeons-in-parkas, which is really high fashion as far as birds are concerned.
Jacobins are one of the oldest domestic pigeon bre...

A small town in Spain has come up with a new way of dealing with dog waste – a canine public toilet. Located along a busy thoroughfare in El Vendrell, northeastern Spain, the stainless steel contraption consists of two sections placed side by side – a doggy potty and a doggy urinal.
The potty is a raised steel platform with a covered hole. Dog owners need to lift the lid for their pets to defecate, and later press a handle to flush. Jets of water are released, w...

These rocks live on the coast of Peru and Chile. Two siphons connect the organisms to the surrounding ocean, where one is used to exhale and the other to inhale. They feed on sea water by inhaling and filtering out all edible microalgae by use of a moving layer of mucus found in its enlarged pharynx. The other siphon is then used to exhale the water out. The Pharynx acts as the organism’s mouth and is connected to its digestive tract.
The Pyura chilensis contains clear blood and h...

Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew, or the Million Beer Bottle Temple as it’s affectionately known is situated within Khun Han in Thailand. The project was dreamed up way back in 1984 when the monks began what was to become a massive collection of green Heineken bottles, and brown Chang bottles - a local brew.
